Viewing how other YouTubers set up their channels and recorded their content has helped me decide what best suits my style of recording videos. Some items I had to try to see what fit me and within my means likewise.

For my set up, I leave a few of these set-ups, and when I'm ready to record, half of the set-up is done.

I really hope you find this helpful as a starting point! 🦉

You can find all these items in my KIT store front: My Gear - for my Amazon affiliate links. HERE

As the less expensive Google Pixel 6a* model. The quality of the pictures and videos I've recreated have been great.

*Please bear in mind if you are searching for a model that will keep getting all the updates for Android; Google has had several updates that this model did not get as of the writing this blog.

At first, I had used with my cell phone to record videos but, the phone and grip got too heavy for my tripod arm. I changed to a different phone holder for my phone that I already had. I just couldn't find it for awhile. Although its still a great way to hold my phone for out and about.

I've found this phone holder to be the best way to hold my phone on my tripod while recording my videos. This phone holder is not like most, which use a spring-snap opening and closing. Instead, you can adjust this holder using knobs. This design provides you with greater control over the extent to which you can stretch and tighten it around your phone. I already had a small travel tripod that came with this, but I was able to find this listing on Amazon.

In the past, I tried using a few other tripods to record videos from above, but they never seemed right or were too low for the wider view I wanted. Until I finally found it. The key was a tripod with three arms. This clamp can be used on any surface thick enough to grip. It has a phone clamp, but I don't like it because it could press on one of my volume buttons or be too heavy on one end, making it fall to one side.

This lamp makes it much easier for me to create light that bounces off. I'd like to light my room with the reflective ceiling lighting and sometimes natural light from my window.

I put it on top of my shelf and point the light up. When I need more light, I'll turn it down at my desk and include my overhead light that's already in my studio.

Since I've owned this desk mat for a few years, it has proven to be highly reliable, constructed from good material, and maintains its vibrant dual-sided colors. The double-sided is excellent because it lets you choose the colors you want and makes it simple to change the scene by flipping it over.

(Desk Mat Hack)

These dots are what I use on my dual-side desk mat. It lacks a non-slip bottom and features two sides. It moves around sometimes, but these help it stay put. Plus, you can reuse these when you flip your desk mat.

Just a cute desk vacuum to help keep things tidy in between projects and recording videos.

Because I have small hands, I typically select tools designed for smaller hands. The handles are comfortable to hold and use. Two of the items in this pack are more plastic-based instead of the rubbery version.
